Amelia Earhart was born in Atchison, Kansas on July 24, 1897. The legendary aviator who
became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean spent much of her childhood in
our city. Today, Atchison proudly preserves her legacy through museums, monuments, and
an annual festival celebrating her pioneering spirit. As preview our line up conference
tours, Atchison County has a long list of pioneering men and women whose names appear
in the nation’s pages of history. We promise a conference offering mystery, history and
entertainment. Come early; stay late, we welcome to Atchison to make FCE memories of
a lifetime.
